The Role
A leading regional smoke control contractor based in Dubai is hiring an experienced AOV / SHEVS Design Engineer. The work spans high-rise mixed-use, hospitality and commercial schemes across the GCC, with a strong pipeline of staircase pressurisation, mechanical and natural smoke ventilation, and CFD-supported design.
You'll work alongside an established team of fire engineers and MEP designers, liaise directly with Civil Defence authorities, and own the design lifecycle from concept through handover commissioning support.
Responsibilities
- Smoke control system design across natural, mechanical and hybrid solutions.
- Staircase and lobby pressurisation design in line with BS EN 12101 and UAE Civil Defence requirements.
- CFD modelling support on complex projects (FDS, Pyrosim or equivalent).
- Liaison with fire engineers, MEP consultants and Civil Defence authorities.
- Commissioning support during project handover and snagging.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in mechanical or building services engineering (or equivalent).
- 3+ years AOV / SHEVS design experience, ideally with some GCC exposure.
- Working knowledge of BS EN 12101, BS 9999, NFPA 92 and UAE Civil Defence FLS Code.
- Comfortable with Revit; CFD package experience preferred but not essential.
Package
- AED 25,000 – 32,000 per month dependent on experience.
- Visa sponsorship, medical insurance, annual flights home.
- Annual bonus tied to project delivery.
- 30 days annual leave.
